The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) Office of Spill Prevention and Response (OSPR) is committed to protecting your privacy and security. This policy outlines how we handle information when you visit and use the Reasonable Worst-Case Spill (RWCS) Volume Calculator.

1. Information We Collect

The RWCS Volume Calculator is designed to run computations as a web-based utility. We do not collect, store, or share any personal identifier information or facility data that you input into the calculator. All calculation parameters and results are processed in real-time.

2. Calculation Data & PDF Generation

When you perform a calculation and choose to download a PDF report, the parameters are sent to our server temporarily to construct the document. These files are generated in-memory or stored in a short-lived cache purely to facilitate the download, and are automatically purged. We do not retain copies of your generated reports.

3. Web Site Traffic Log Data

Standard web server logs may record general, non-personal data such as your IP address, browser type, and time of access. This information is used solely to monitor site performance, ensure security, and improve functionality.
